Thank you to those we joined us for our investigation at Knottingley town hall. We investigated this attractive and imposing building on the night of 31st March. We had an excellent, even though relatively small group of us, 5 in total. However, this small group worked in our favour as we all talked well and got to know each other right from the events outset. We held the introduction to the evening in the upstairs dance hall. As a group, we all thought that seen as we were there, this would be a great place to begin our night investigating. Right from the outset, we had some cat ball interaction from the spirits on the left-hand (as we faced it!) side of the main stage. We attempted an EVP session which, although it seemed to pick up some noises on the digital recording, we couldnt determine the noise. Next, we moved on to use the sb-11 spirit box; again, some responses appeared to answer our questions, some coming from a female spirit and others from a male. It did seem, though, as if the spirits were finding it hard to talk with them coming through simultaneously. The spirit energy seemed to build the more we spoke with them and the longer we stayed. Next, we went on an exploration of the building and had a look at the rooms on the ground floor corridor. We settled upon the main council chamber room with the old meeting hall committee tables. Again we had some cat ball interaction and k2 response from the start. We attempted an EVP experiment but did not pick up any answer, so we moved to the spirit box. We received a response from a male spirit who told us they were happy and proud of the building, didnt mind our presence there and told us how many were in our group. We then used the Paratek device to elicit communication. We had great responses on the device to questions. We discovered that the spirit was buried nearby to the building, had died in an accident and would like some help before telling us that we should move to talk to others. Whilst in the room, we also heard a high-pitched sigh, which led us to feel we were not alone in the building. With the advice to talk to others, we took the Paratek back to the dance hall. We had brilliant cat ball interaction with the spirit using the ball to the left hand of the stage; we used this and the paratek to get intelligent responses to questions. The answers told us we were communicating with the spirit of a young boy who used the building when it was a school and sadly fell to his death whilst playing with his friends. The spirits here also told us we were communicating with the spirits of service personnel and that there were 8 of them in the building. Towards the end of the session, the paratek told us they needed rest now, with the final response telling us to “go right”. We took this as spirit instruction to have our break. The kitchen where our interval was set up was to the immediate right of the stage!! After a break, we all agreed to go for a vigil in the basement rooms. We went down the stairs, and after having an explore of all the many rooms and corridors that are down there, we settled on the far room to the right. Here we first called out with the sb-11 in the pitch dark. During this calling out, the chair I was sat on was physically pulled backwards by an unseen force all the group noticed and were aware of. We felt it was best not to investigate in the absolute darkness and put on a dim light!!. We got nothing through the spirit box but did get some noises on an EVP experiment which recorded footsteps on the stone floor and shuffling sounds as if someone was moving around the circle we had formed. Although we carried on the vigil in the low light, non of us felt a hostile atmosphere; it felt pretty relaxed and peaceful. We decided to attempt communicating with the k2 meter and dowsing rods. The spirit seemed to find conversing with these tools easy, indicating they would swing the rod for yes and stop the rod dead for no. Two of the ladies in the group both held the rods at different times to call out and ask questions. We got through both this and the k2 that we were communicating with the spirit of a deceased nun, who again was happy with us being there and was glad to talk but noted that only with females. We then evidenced this by trying the rods to communicate with a male holding them, which received no results at all. In this room as well, we heard audible noises, namely dull thuds from the other rooms in the basement and some audible whistling. However, we didnt get any direct response in this manner. For the final vigil of the evening, we proceeded to the lounge room on the ground floor as a guest felt compelled to the room. We had some weak but reponsive interaction with the Paratek. This all seemed to come more as we talked amongst ourselves. Again it seemed to be a female spirit looking for someone but appeared not to have much energy as they told us they were weary. After we got this response, we were again talking amongst ourselves when we noticed that the Paratek had turned itself off despite having a full battery. We further heard noises in the corridor and what sounded like a door being closed. We asked some questions and appeared to receive some intelligent tap responses, but we couldnt be sure that this wasnt down to interference from outside. As spirit seekers, I would like to thank the guests we had with us; without the incredible connection we built and their input in calling out and experiments, the evening would not have been as great an investigation as it was, so once again thank you all. Just a final note to the evening As I was packing my equipment and things away in the kitchen I heard the floorboards of the hall creaking with footsteps coming toward the kitchen door. When these stopped, the door to the kitchen then creaked and cracked as if it was about to open!!! It made me think someone was physically present in the building with me, despite me being locked in alone. I dont mind admitting it took me a couple of minutes before I plucked up the courage to go and open the door and carry on locking up the building!! All in all, Knottingley town hall was a great nights investigation which was made all the better by the brilliant team of guests who came along with us. I look forward to hopefully seeing you all on future investigations. -Lee 👻
