This building was a hideout & home for the catholic minority. Later a hunting lodge for the wealthy & now hotel & pub. An imposing manor house built 1860. Former home to a variety of occupants from soldiers to artists & architects. Todays sightings of a woman in the bedrooms, doors moving & sounds of keys jangling may be linked to the death of a young servant girl here.
